Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines
AOJSE welcomes original research articles, review papers, case studies, technical reports, and short communications from researchers, academicians, scientists, engineers, and industry professionals across all disciplines of science, engineering, and applied technologies. All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal or conference proceedings.
Submission Preparation
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscript is carefully prepared and thoroughly reviewed before submission. The manuscript should be written in clear, grammatically correct English and must follow the journal's formatting standards. The title should be concise and accurately reflect the content of the study. The abstract should be self-contained, typically between 150 to 250 words, and should clearly state the objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusion of the study. Authors should provide 4 to 6 relevant keywords that represent the core topics of the manuscript.
Manuscript Structure
A well-structured manuscript should include the following sections in order: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if applicable), and References. All sections should be clearly labeled. Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially, provided with descriptive captions, and placed appropriately within the text. High-resolution images and figures should be submitted in JPEG or PNG format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.
Formatting Requirements
Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). The recommended font is Times New Roman, size 12, with double line spacing and standard margins of 1 inch on all sides. Pages should be numbered consecutively. The manuscript length should generally be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures. Authors must ensure that all abbreviations are defined at first use and that mathematical equations are formatted clearly and numbered sequentially.
References and Citations
All references must be accurate, complete, and formatted consistently throughout the manuscript. AOJSE recommends the use of APA (American Psychological Association) referencing style. In-text citations should include the author's last name and year of publication. The reference list at the end of the manuscript should be arranged alphabetically by the author's last name. Authors must ensure that all cited sources are accessible and verifiable. Self-citation should be kept to a minimum and must be relevant and justified.
Ethical Standards and Originality
AOJSE is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism prior to peer review. A similarity index of no more than 20% is acceptable, excluding references and quoted material. Authors must confirm that the research was conducted ethically and, where applicable, that appropriate institutional ethics committee approval was obtained. Studies involving human or animal subjects must include a statement of ethical clearance within the manuscript.
Co-Authorship and Consent
All individuals listed as authors must have made a genuine and significant intellectual contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. Authors must obtain consent from all co-authors before submission. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission to AOJSE.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research or its findings. If no conflict of interest exists, authors should include a statement confirming this in the manuscript. Transparent disclosure ensures the integrity and credibility of published research.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to AOJSE undergo a double-blind peer review process, meaning that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the review. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers based on originality, scientific rigor, clarity, relevance, and contribution to the field. The editorial team makes the final decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the reviewers' recommendations.
Revision and Resubmission
Authors whose manuscripts require revisions will receive detailed feedback from reviewers and the editorial team. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the stipulated timeframe along with a point-by-point response letter addressing all reviewer and editor comments. Revised manuscripts that do not adequately address the reviewers' concerns may be rejected or sent for further review.
Copyright and Licensing
Upon acceptance, authors retain the copyright of their work. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium provided the original work is properly cited. Authors grant AOJSE a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive the article in print and electronic formats.
Publication Charges
AOJSE is committed to open-access publishing. Information regarding any applicable article processing charges (APCs) will be communicated to authors at the time of acceptance. Waiver requests may be considered for authors from low-income countries or those facing financial constraints.
